This is a long-lived perennial legume suitable even for acid soils and for soils where Phosphorous availability is limited. Caucasian clover has a good pest and disease resistance and it and tolerate heavy grazing.
As a legume, Caucasian clover fixes nitrogen to soil, but is not particularly good in adding organic matter.
Caucasian clove spreads underground via rhizomes. It has a very slow establishment in large quantities it may cause bloat in cattle.
