Paspalum

Paspalum

Paspalum dilatatum or dallisgrass is native to Brazil and Argentina but it has spread throughout the world as an introduced species.

This plant occurs in soils that are low in Calcium and Phosphorus and high in Magnesium and Iron. Often drainage isn’t a problem in its habitat but it might indicate low organic matter.

Paspalum dilatatum is a food source for many bird species.
